For reference, my measurements are 32-24-34. I am 5’2″ short and I weigh 110lbs. I’m usually a size XS-S (UK size 8, NL size 34/36), my ideal jeans size is 28/29 (skinnies) or sometimes 28/30 (bootcut). But in Forever 21 jeans I’m always a size 27 though, for some odd reason…I guess they run big

After seeing the footage, I think that maybe Urban Decay’s Midnight Cowboy Rides Again e/s or even Urban Decay’s Nylon e/s would’ve been better on the lid than UD’s Sellout, but ah well, Sellout looks pretty too

As soon as I saw the promotional images for this collection, I knew I had to make the Dish It Up lipstick and the Shop & Drop eyeshadow quad mine. I have a major weakness for purple-toned lipsticks and as for the quad…hehehe…I mainly wanted Hypnotizing e/s. It’s a re-release and I’ve been lemming it ever since the Love Lace LE from 2009

Btw, it’s such a shame MAC only used the brightly coloured packaging for the slide on covers. Underneath those, you’ll find the usual boring black MAC packaging

Since I don’t have a MAC counter near me, I decided to order online. Here in Holland, we only have one online store that sells MAC and that’s De Bijenkorf (a famous department store). You’d think such a fancy store would be able to wrap orders with a wee bit o’ bubble wrap, but I guess not *sigh* When I got the package, the two products were on the bottom of the box with only a bit of flimsy brown paper on top. Thank goodness nothing was broken…

So let’s start with the lipstick Dish It Up (€18 or only $14.50 if you’re a lucky American) is a beautiful semi-sheer purply-toned berry pink. Even though it’s a lustre finish, the coverage is quite opaque right away. So use a light hand and then build it to the desired intensity or else your lips will look like a mess

This is one layer, on my very pale lips. The colour goes soooo well with a pale skintone I find it a little drying, but not too badly. The only real problem I have with it, is that throughout the day those extra layers of touch ups tend to sink into little lines around the mouth. So using a lipliner or some translucent powder around the mouth is recommend with this one.

And a full face photo of me wearing the lipstick I’m absolutely in love with this colour and I really hope they’ll make it permanent!

Then the Shop & Drop eyeshadow quad (€38…it’s only $38 in the US, that’s €28 *cries*), which contains four eyeshadows with different finishes. Sugar Snack is a matte pale pink which disappears into my skintone Hypnotizing is an unusual shimmery greyish mauve, I don’t have anything quite like it in my makeup stash. Power Boosted is your typical violet eyeshadow, it’s pretty, but easily dupeable. Shop & Drop is a deep blue that should’ve been great, but in reality need a crapload of work to actually look good.

Hehehe see? You need a magnifying glass to see Sugar Snack on my skintone But that makes it a really great blending colour and/or highlight for me. Power Boosted, while not unique, is a gorgeous violet colour which I already know I’ll use a lot Shop & Drop is just terrible… What a hideously dry and muddy colour. However, with a sticky base underneath, I think I can make it work. And Hypnotizing, oh my goodness, if I could marry that colour, I probably would

While I’m happy with my new stuffies, I still think MAC can do better with their products and new (LE) releases. Urban Decay, for instance, makes such buttery smooth fantastic eyeshadows…whereas I find that MAC eyeshadows tend to be a bit on the drier side, making them harder to work with.

Oh blog, what to do with you? I keep looking at you, all sad and lonely on the internet…without many posts. I think you need some attention, don’t you?

Seriously though, I really miss blogging. But I don’t think I want to even remotely attempt beauty blogging ever again. I was so naive when I started beauty blogging… Full of good intentions, planning to have fun, socialize and whatnot. But my goodness, the Dutch beauty blogging world is a nasty drama filled one; a lot of those women are like freakin’ piranhas It honestly scares the crap out of me and I wanna stay faaaar, faaaar away from it

So I’m tempted to just turn this into a personal blog where I write about whatever I wanna write Life, Lily, beauty, my health struggles, etc. And if people wanna read it, cool. If they don’t, also cool hehehe Plus, it would be nice to have a place to vent since my health has been so wonky lately. And wow, I’m overusing smilies already it seems…*ahem*

So anyway, from piranhas to fake flowers! I wasn’t quite sure what to do about my bridal bouquet, since well…you know, I’m deadly allergic to flowers But my mum simply walked up to the customer service desk at our local little garden centre, said “My daughter’s allergic to flowers, but she needs a bridal bouquet. Please help us.” And 5 minutes later I had chosen fake flowers and they had asked a talented girl from the floral department to put them together as a bouquet. Isn’t it pretty?

I think my mum officially kicks ass.

Possibly also because she. bought. me. a. new. phone. A Samsung Galaxy Whatchamacallit Idontkeepuwithtechnology I’m paying her back in chunks though, because there’s no way in h-e-double-hockey-sticks that I could ever accept such an expensive gift. But my parents (especially my mum) have always been very gung-ho about keeping up with technology.

The phone’s a bit tricky for me so far though, because the touchscreen thingamajig gives me Dystonia attacks for some reason. I think it’s because I have to focus so much on “aiming and clicking” the right thing. Plus, apps blow my mind My brother (who is the ubernerd) keeps trying to explain things to me, “And then you slide that over there. Hold that, then drop it. Now swype.”, but it really sounds like he’s speaking Klingon to me Hopefully I’ll get the hang of it soon because I feel like a n00b

Oh! And the last random (lemme underline/cursive/bold that ) thing I wanted to share is the gloriousness of our newly repaired bathroom ceiling. The lights are so bright that when you flip the light switch and open the bathroom door, it feels like you’re about to enter the Heavenly Gates

Not great for someone who’s as OCD about tidiness as I am though Because suddenly, every speck of dust is visible, every fingerprint on the tap, eeeevery water mark on the shower doors. But, at the same time, no more mold on the ceiling, no more scary tightly bound asbestos ventilation pipe (finally sealed it off!) and no more extraction fan which sounds like an airplane taking off I can pee again in the middle of the night with the fan on without having to worry about waking up any neighbours! Hooray!

This quick and easy hair tutorial will show you how to create a voluminous high hair bun with the help of a hair donut You can buy a hair donut from most beauty supply stores. I even saw them in Primark! And my local “kapperswinkel” sells them too

If you have very fine hair, I recommend teasing (backcombing) the hair of the ponytail a little before wrapping it around the hair donut. Another cool thing you could do is to make a poof (quiff) in the front first before creating the ponytail for the donut bun

Here’s what I got for Christmas from my parents, brother and fiancé! Gmarket shopping is always a special treat for me, because the shipping is usually a bit too expensive for me personally to shop there regularly. So I wait for the holidays or special occasions But the stuff on Gmarket is always soooo good So I was super excited to receive this package!

And a makeup haul wouldn’t be a true Suzy style makeup haul if I didn’t have my trusty assistant Haaky with me while I show the products! Poor Haaky, he had to be my makeup guinea pig in this one…

I wasn’t too familiar with Peripera cosmetics…I mean, I knew about their hugely popular nail polishes, but other than that I hadn’t really seen many swatches or reviews. But they had a lovely deal going on at the time of my order, 3 Wonder Kiss glosses for the price of 1! And that 1 was discounted as well, so it ended up costing only ￦8,900 (± $8)!!!

I chose the colours 23 Angel Pink, 25 Glow Orange and 31 Peach Sugar They all look quite pinky coralish on me and they last a long time as well (I adore the subtle shimmers in them too). High quality glosses for a wonderfully budgetproof price!

Hehe the highlighter I attacked Haaky with I love love LOVE this stuff and its hygienic pump packaging (yeah yeah, I’m a neat freak). It gives the skin such a beautiful glow without being overly shimmery. But, even though the Etude House Nymph Volumer makes a good MAC Strobe Cream dupe, I wouldn’t use this mixed with my BB cream all over my face. It’s better to highlight only key areas of the face instead of looking like a glowstick

As you can probably tell, I’ve used these two Holika Holika Jewel-Light Waterproof Eyeliners a lot since receiving them Especially the light pink one because it really brightens my eye area when I used it on my waterline and lower lashline

The last photo I took is of the Holika Holika Heartful Moisture Lipstick in the colour BG401, a simple nude pink lipstick. A my lips but better colour The finish reminds me of the MAC Lustre lipsticks, but the Holika Holika one doesn’t last quite as long on lips unfortunately. Then again, I’m a compulsive lip licker remember? This one has made it to my purse though, that’s how much I like it! Too bad it’s such a teeny tiny lipstick, I bet I’ll finish it in no time

안녕하세요 my lovely dumplings! Wow, it’s been a while, huh? Hope you’re all doing well and that you’re looking forward to Christmas and New Year’s Oh how time flies!

I just wanted to give you all a little update to let you know I haven’t fallen off the face of the earth You know how it is, “real life” can become hectic sometimes and then you have to set priorities and make choices. There simply aren’t enough hours in the day at the moment to focus on both beauty blogging as well as YouTubin’ it up, so I chose to focus solely on my YouTube channel for now.

I’m actually getting closer and closer to a whoppin’ 4000 subscribers!! Can you believe it?! It’s exciting and terrifying at the same time And I plan to celebrate 4k in a big way by organising an awesome giveaway, so I’ve been working on finding sponsors and putting prize packages together.

So for now, I would suggest subscribing to my YouTube channel if you want to follow me on the WWW…as I don’t post all of my new videos on my blog I do hope to get back to blogging in 2012 though, because I really do miss it. I also have an English Twitter account, which I update waaaaaaay more (i.e. non-stop) than my Dutch one.

So what else has been up in the world of Suzy, you ask? Well, I got engaged! No one was surprised though, considering my boyfriend fiancé and I have been together for 7 years and have been living together since 2007. Aaand we travelled to Berlin to visit our family there because I became an aunt again! And I’m about to become an aunt yet again; it’s like baby boom central over here

But there were also some low points, sadly. We’re travelling to the UK in a couple of days because my fiancé’s dad underwent surgery And my mum had to undergo eye surgery again after the artificial lens in her only functioning eye detached itself. The recovery afterwards didn’t go smoothly either, due to one of the stitches not dissolving and causing an infection. You can imagine the amount of stress this all caused…

And my own health has been the usual roller coaster I got the flu in November and my whole body went nuts-o. I’m still not fully recovered from it. But you know me, I’m like teflon Or I like to think I’m like teflon anyway *knocks on wood*

Even though I’m obsessed with Korean (pop) culture, I fell in love with Japanese Gyaru style after attending that kickass lecture. So I just HAD to film a makeup tutorial! It was actually quite difficult to apply Gyaru makeup, considering I have caucasian features and my eyeshape is the complete opposite of an Asian eyeshape (I have deepset eyes). But I really hope you’ll like the video!
